Betty Graham Real Estate
Betty Graham has built a remarkable career defined by leadership, loyalty, and an unwavering commitment to elevating the real estate profession. As president and COO of Coldwell Banker Real Estate Greater Los Angeles, Graham dedicated herself to supporting the agents who drive the industry, believing they are the “unsung heroes” of the business world. With her signature Southern charm and around-the-clock work ethic, she focused on ensuring that both agents and clients experienced the highest level of service, helping Coldwell Banker maintain its dominance in the luxury real estate market.
Born and raised on a cotton farm outside Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Graham learned the value of hard work at an early age while helping her family alongside her seven siblings. After relocating to California’s San Joaquin Valley in the 1950s, she pursued a degree in photojournalism at UCLA before beginning her professional career in entertainment. She worked at CBS as an assistant to football star Tom Harmon before becoming the personal assistant to legendary television host Johnny Carson during his early years in Hollywood. Their close friendship and Carson’s mentorship would later influence the next phase of her career.
Following her divorce in 1976, Graham entered the real estate industry by earning her real estate license and launching her career in Malibu. She quickly became a top-producing agent and later founded her own brokerage, Coast and Canyon Realtors, where she refined her management and leadership abilities. In 1982, she joined the Jon Douglas Company, rapidly advancing from branch manager to regional manager and vice president. By the time the company merged with NRT to form Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in 1997, Graham had established herself as one of the most respected leaders in Southern California real estate.
With more than three decades of experience, Graham developed a deep understanding of the ever-changing housing market and the emotional significance of buying and selling homes. She believed success in real estate depended not on market conditions, but on consistently serving clients with professionalism and care. Her leadership philosophy centered on accessibility, personal connection, and community involvement, ensuring that Coldwell Banker remained both innovative and people-focused. Under her guidance, the company invested heavily in technology while maintaining the personal relationships that defined its reputation.
Graham’s leadership produced extraordinary results. Coldwell Banker Los Angeles achieved record-breaking luxury sales, with billions of dollars in real estate transactions and a commanding share of Southern California’s upscale housing market. Leading a network of 3,000 agents across 44 offices, she earned widespread recognition for her contributions, including the Beverly Hills Chamber’s Women of Achievement Award and President’s Award. Through her vision, dedication, and enduring belief in the power of strong relationships, Betty Graham helped shape Coldwell Banker into one of the most successful and respected luxury real estate brands in the industry.
